Hives Hives and More Hives

So I woke up at 1230 am last night with super itchy hands. I have had this sensation before when I was working in the OR and developed some allergy to something (that something yet unknown).
So I get out of bed, go to the bathroom and start to put hydrocortisone cream on and realize I have hives on my eyes and arms, and then BAM! I start to itch all over. My ears, in my hair, my belly, my butt, you name it it itched. I immediately downed two benadryl (thankfully this is a safe drug during pregnancy) and jumped in the shower. After 10 minutes under the water and scrubbing the hell out of my skin, I got into bed and was able to fall back asleep. 5 AM, up again itchy. SO this time I took one benadryl.

(A) and I are off to Denver today and she picked me up at 7 am. Needless to say, I am one cute mess with swollen eye lids and red swollen fingers. My hives at this point are bi-lateral. Everything on my right side matches my left. Knee caps, elbows, fingers, hips, You get the point. We get to the airport and they seem to go in remission. Not for long! Once we land in Denver, I take another Benadryl and remission begins again. I did however think I was going to throw up in the super shuttle.

We checked in and went to get lunch and I went to Walgreens to get Aveeno Oatmeal bath and Benadryl cream. Nap time in the hotel and I wake up at 530 PM with full blown hives on my stomach and I wanna rip the skin off my hands! I take a bath and slather all this benadryl cream on, take another benadryl and now am writing this horribly depressing blog. So the warning label on the cream states that I shouldn't use this cream with other diphenhydramine products, even oral. F'ing great. So now I probably have overdosed on Benadryl, yet IT IS NOT FREAKING WORKING. Well, max dose for 24 hrs is 300 mg, and I am nowhere near that, so thank freaking god!

OK, so why do I have these hives? I am thinking some type of food allergy? I ate beef and egg udon and seaweed salad for dinner last night. I always eat this stuff, so it is suspect that this will be the culprit, however, something in my body is not happy. Maybe little blueberry (that's the size of the baby during Week 7), doesn't like Japanese food. Well, you can count on this, NO MORE Japanese until the pregnancy is over.
AND, I just read that this is very common, especially around weeks 6-7. Are you kidding me??? People, don't get pregnant. Just don't. I hope little blueberry does push some magic button coming out of my va-jay-jay so i forget all about this!
