So Thanksgiving was a blast, and sober for once. That was different, but nice. I don't really even notice alcohol, even miss it for that matter. 2 amazing bottles of wine were opened from the 70s and I smelled them, turned down a swig, and was a bit bummed since they were $600 bottles of wine!
My sister-in-law (N) announced that she was thankful that she would not be the only mom in the family at the table next year. So the cat was out of the bag to about 5 strangers, and my 5 nieces and nephew. They were the most shocked. The eldest (C) turned to my sister (R) and said "Well that is a surprise!" She is 11 yrs old. Later she asked me, "So, how did that happen? Was it like, A miracle?" HA HA HA....yes, I am the new Mary mother of God, immaculate conception people. Oh my, that gave me a laugh. Well, I answered her like this, "Well, hum, let's see, has your mom had THE TALK with you yet?" (C) "What talk?" (G) "Um, let's see?" (C) "Oh, that talk...yeah." Conversation ends right there! Definitely a moment where I fast forwarded 11 years to when I will have to have The Talk with my little kumquat. Yikes.
So the night went on, and the kids were stoked that they will have a cousin on this coast to play with and to babysit. Yes, BABYSIT. Amazing!!! So then they asked if I knew if it was a boy or girl, and I told them that I didn't know yet, but I would let them know. Then I got bombarded with names they liked so I said, "Everyone, right down the names that you like on a piece of paper, and maybe I will name the kid one of those names!" They totally dug this, and now I have a list of really, really good names!

Hey boo, that was a funny one - especially about Cecila. You mean it wasn't an immaculate conception? I have to throw my two cents in about the names. My favorites are Madison, Jaxton (sp?) and I absolutely love the name CHase. A little wine is ok. I think I had about 7-8 glasses during my pregnancy and my doc had told me a glass a week would be ok, but had very little desire to drink (heartburn). ARE you still in SD or heading back to SF. gIve me a call.
