one more week, one more week, one more week!!!!

One more week of my 1st trimester!  Thank freaking God.  Here is an update:

1) Go ahead, you can tell people now, but I am sure most of you already have.

2) Nausea has pretty much subsided.  Just occasionally on the out of control bus rides.

3) Sleepless nights are still prevalent.  Took Benadryl last night to get a full nights rest, and of course, my cat had to knock over the Christmas tree at 1230 am to ruin the best sleep I had have had in a month.  However, since the pills were on board, I feel right back asleep.

4) I drink coffee everyday.  Only a cup in the AM.  I also ignore most "don't eat while pregnant" lists.  However I only eat little portions.  I love blue cheese, and I like deli meat so I am eating it.  I will not eat Japanese until this is over (hives situation a month ago), and  I won't eat a raw oyster, but the other stuff....screw it.  Moderation is key.

5) I have only gained 3.6 lbs since my first weigh in.  Looks to be on target, but I am blaming Thanksgiving starch for most of that.  Still hard not to have any control over your weight.  And please do not comment on "well, its a good weight....yada yada yada."  You can stuff it you skinny bitches-wait to you get prego.  (Kinda joking, but not really).

6) I bet my little lime doesn't like Mr. Eli jumping on my belly now.  See below.

Take care, and GO Redskins..beat the Raiders this Sunday!

Your pregnancy: 12 weeks

How your baby's growing:

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
